Miss Maureen has a BFA in Dance/Fine Arts from Douglas College/Rutgers University. Miss Maureen’s dance education continued at the University of Florida, Dance Masters, Dance Educators America and Master Tap Classes with Brenda Buffalino, Savion Glover and Gregory Hines. Miss Maureen has also completed the Royal Academy of Dance Teacher Training Program and is recognized as20one of the area’s best tap teachers. Miss Maureen was the owner and director of Maureen’s Danceworks (1981-1998) formerly located in Old Bridge and Sayreville and is credited with many choreography awards and student performances including Walt Disney Worlds Magic Music Days, Orange Bowl Halftime Show and dance performances on TV12. She has been recognized by many Regional and National Competition Dance Companies for her dynamic choreography. In February 2003, members of Par Excellence Competition Team at Swing 46 (a tap club in New York City) performed Miss Maureen’s choreography and received many accolades for their outstanding performance. In the summer of 2004, Maureen trained with Savion Glover at the NJPAC summer session. Miss Maureen is most rewarded by the successes achieved by her students in all fields of dance and life. Personally, Miss Maureen’s greatest accomplishments have been sharing 35 years with her wonderful husband Joel, and celebrating everyday the pleasure of parenting Jarrod and Jackie.
